Paul and Cody
My daughter and her fiance arrived yesterday afternoon and we’ve been on the go ever since. I’ll blog more about this later, but right now I’m exhausted. We got up early and did a tour of lovely downtown El Paso, visited the Mercado Flea Market, then went over to Mesilla, New Mexico, for some shopping and delicious Mexican food. Needless to say, I missed my nap and now (at 9:30 PM) I’m so tired I can barely type.
On the way home we saw about 20-30 hawks in the sky. I tried to take a photo of them, but the truck was moving and I couldn’t zoom out fast enough to really get the scope of how many hawks there were. Look at these things…what the hell is up with hawks lately?

Your daughter and her fiance look so happy together! What a cute couple! OOO – about the hawks. Do they normally appear together in such large groups like that? Seems odd. Maybe a storm is coming so they are acting weird because they can sense it? Freaky.
@ teeni – They are really happy together! It’s very cute. I don’t know what to say about those hawks…the storm theory sounds logical. Lately I’ve seen hawks flying together in pairs and threes, but I’ve never seen what looks like a “flock” of hawks like this. But something is changing with hawks and it is freaky. Joan Harvest has them building nests IN HER YARD. I hope this isn’t going to be like what happened with the coyotes. Even though I’m in El Paso, the only place I’ve come face-to-face with coyotes is in Massachusetts! The world is getting too strange.
Cody looks absolutely wonderful! I still miss her at Christmas–and you, too, of course. And Max. And Sam. (It’s weird not having you guys here at Christmas.)
Do you love being a tour guide in your ‘new’ city? I just love being able to show off New England to my my midwestern visitors. I bet I’ve seen that darn Plymouth Rock more times than people who actually live in Plymouth.
I’m glad you are having a good visit with the dot.
Cody looks great and very happy. It looks like Hitchcock’s “The Birds”. The hawks in my yard had 2 babies who are now flying around. Now I have four hawks killing all my little birds.
You must be so happy to see Cody.
Barbara left a comment. She actually came out of her garden and stopped her favorite killing games to make a comment.
@ Barbara – Yeah, Cody’s doing great. And Christmas is really weird now, every is completely different than the year before. What do I think of that? Read my mind.
@ Curious C - Ha! I’m sure you’ve been to Plymouth Rock more times than the people who live there. When I was in elementary school we went there ever year.
@ Joan – She is happy. The hawk situation, what’s going on?! Why are they doing this to us?
They are an adorable couple. Please don’t let the hawks smell them.
“what the hell is up with hawks lately?” hahaha….I really don’t know, but don’t get near enough to ask them!!
PS: your daughter’s a cutie-pie!!!
Your daughter and F-S-I-L make a gorgeous couple!
If you find out what the issue is with the hawks please let me know. We have more around our house than I can ever remember. There was one on the patio the other night eating dry dog food. They are so cool to watch, but it is weird seeing so many of them lately.
